My research seeks to explain the relationship between late nineteenth century liberalism and the rise of radical politics in colonial India, particularly colonial Bombay.
Research interests: Historiography, "Left" History, V. I. Lenin, Radical Politics, Liberalism in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
The Communist Party and the Communist movement in India, Global Development Agencies/International Aid, Political theory, Modernization theory.
Secondarily: Urban Design, Architectural Conservation.
